George J. Clarke (1857 - 1917) was Premier of New Brunswick from 1914 to 1917. Prior to that he was editor of the St. Croix Courier and Mayor of St. Stephen 1898 to 1899. In the run-up to the Premiership he was Speaker of the Legislative Council and later Attorney General of the Province. Poor health forced Clarke to resign his post in 1917. He died a few weeks later.
