Catholic Church SiteThis empty lot marks the site of the town's first Catholic Church, erected in 1825. A new church was built on King Street in 1886, and the old structure stood vacant for some time before being occupied by the Andraeleo Club in the last few years of the century. In accordance with the group's plans to expand, the the building was moved to Church Street in 1903 to serve as the stage for a new hall and opera house. It is currently the back section of Europa Restaurant. Adjacent is the Catholic Cemetery, much decayed. It ceased to be used in 1865, when the Rural Cemetery was opened. David Sullivan, 2013.
