Image Captain Starkey lived in the old Wyer House on the waterfront and now part of the Seaside Beach Resort. These photographs come courtesy of a desdendant, Ann Schelzig. I quote from her letter: "I am the descendant of James Starkey who visited St. Andrews earlier in August and met you. . . . The oldest photo is of the original house, perhaps between 1894 and 1900 with James, his wife Susan, daughter Natalie, Robert, Vaughn and the youngest, Louis. The older woman might be Susan's mother Susan Fisher, or her aunt Martha Trimble. They came from Robbinston, ME.

Image The Starkey boys at the blockhouse, circa 1890. Ms. Schelzig writes of her great grandfather's gravestone in Brewer, Maine: "buried there are their children Robert and Vaughn who died at around 20 of consumption and Natalie who died at 93. There was another son, Justin, in addition to my grandfather Louis who lived in Massachusetts too. Louis was the only one who had children." Courtesy Ann Schelzig.
