St. Andrews Arena Condemned. Roof sagging. 21 year old structure (1941) Privately owned. Built with volunteer money and donations from Arena Club. Has housed championship hockey clubs, garden shows, big name bands, curling clubs and reserve army units. 85 by 195 feet. 21 laminated wooded arches, now showing deformation from the circular. Feared snowfall will buckle them.

Drawing of Windsor Hotel. 80 years old. Purchased by Buchanan Brothers 1921. Entire top floor including tower, destroyed by fire 1927 or 1928. Rest still housing Buchanan Brothers furniture.

Dunn Foundation announced Gift: Modern Arena for St. Andrews. Drawing. Lady Dunn: "I want to do something for St. Andrews because this is the only home I have and all my friends are here." 250 by 150 feet. Curling rink, etc.

St. Stephen Reaction to New Liquor Control Act for New Brunswick. Liquor Interests Wins Victory—Pastor. Reactions Range from frank approval to near disgust.

            Mr. W. R. Boutin, Proprietor Queen Hotel: "I feel it will be great for the hotel industry. It will compel the hotel dining room to be opened and will help unemployment as extra staff will be needed. It will raise the standards of the hotel with extra revenue." Doesn't feel it will be detrimental to the Temperance Union.
